REframED Learning Academy
REframED Learning Academy is the flagship program of REframED Foundation, designed for students who need a smaller, more structured learning environment to rebuild confidence and accelerate academic growth.
Operated by REframED Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving Sampson County families.
The Academy launches with a cohort of ten third-grade students in Sampson County and expands to grades 3–5 as the model grows.
Students receive personalized instruction in literacy and mathematics while learning to use technology and artificial intelligence responsibly as tools for thinking, not shortcuts for answers.
Who the Academy Serves
This program supports students who:
• need stronger reading or math foundations
• benefit from predictable routines and clear expectations
• work best with guided support and feedback
• feel overlooked in large classrooms
• thrive when school and home communicate consistently
Families seeking a calm, structured academic environment often find this model to be a better fit than traditional settings.
A Typical Learning Week
Students learn within a consistent five day learning routine designed to balance structure, support, and independence.
Each day includes:
• Direct instruction in reading and writing
• Focused mathematics learning blocks
• Guided independent practice
• Small group support
• Project based application activities
• Predictable routines and transitions
The schedule is intentionally structured so students know what to expect while still experiencing variety in how they learn. Consistency builds confidence, and confidence allows students to take academic risks.
How Learning is Different
Instruction follows a consistent structure:
teach → practice → apply → reflect
Lessons combine teacher-led instruction, guided technology use, and project-based learning rather than passive screen time.
Artificial intelligence tools are used in supervised small-group settings to provide feedback and support thinking while maintaining the central role of the teacher.
How Progress Is Measured
Student growth is tracked using multiple measures rather than traditional grades alone:
Skill mastery
MAP growth benchmarks
Written responses
Problem-solving reasoning
Student confidence
Families receive regular updates and meet to review progress throughout the year.
Partnership With Families
Families are active partners in the learning process.
The Academy provides:
Weekly learning updates
Progress conferences
Portfolio showcases
Clear communication expectations
School and home work together to support consistent progress.
Why the Model Exists
Many students fall behind not because they cannot learn, but because the learning environment does not match how they learn best.
REframED Learning Academy is designed to close those gaps through structure, relationships, and intentional instruction.
The goal is not simply a smaller school.
The goal is a learning system built for growth.
Considering Enrollment
Families interested in the upcoming cohort can start a conversation with us to see if the Academy is a good fit for their child.
Submitting the form does not commit your family. It simply lets us learn more about your child and answer your questions.
Determining Fit
We take time to understand whether the Academy is the right environment for your child.
Our program works best for learners who benefit from structure, routine, and consistent support.
After you submit the interest form, we schedule a short conversation to learn about your child’s needs, goals, and school experiences, and together determine whether the Academy is a good fit.
There is no commitment during this step. It is simply an opportunity to ask questions and learn how the Academy may support your child.
